Raspberry Picking

We have had a great crop of raspberries this year, and I have been getting out early in the morning to collect them, and then mid morning, then afternoon, then evening. I like raspberries! Somehow I escaped from Mom and made it out there without pants on, which I don't quite understand why this is unacceptable. It sure feels better to wear nothing but underwear all day. We should all do it!

Summer Fun

We spent some time at Grandpa Gerard's house a week ago, and had so much fun! We got to work on the farm a bit, hunting wolves and taking wagon rides, and playing on the swing set.  We went over to Audrey's house and I got to go on the tractor with Uncle Justin, which was awesome! Pete and Audrey chatted it up on the step with there portable phone.

Look at this giant hay bale!

We went to the Nowthen Threshing show again this year. We went on tractor wagon rides and train rides and saw too many tractors to count!

20 cent pop at the old gas station there. Yum!

Boy, I wish I could drive this monster tractor!

Mini Vacation

We took a little trip to Bayfield, WI and on the way there, stopped at Cornicopia, where we swam and had a picnic. My mom remembers going there as a kid with her extended family. The Lake Superior water was pretty cold, but not as cold at the Park Point water was yesterday when we went there (it was like iceberg temperatures!).

Petey's footprints. How cute and tiny!

Our first night camping all summer. We mostly ran around and played, but Dad got us to calm down for a bit with this book of mazes for me. I really like mazes!

The next morning we went to a fruit orchard, and picked blueberries. They were awesome!

Tastes good!

Good thing you could eat right off the plant- the temptation would have been too hard to resist!

Pull Me!

We thought it was a good idea to pull each other in our truck wagon, but realized it is pretty hard, so it didn't last long. It was fun though. When we were finished, we re-energized by eating handfuls of raspberries. Our raspberry plants have been a huge magnet when I step outside each morning. It has been the best to have yummy berries every single day. This is the main reason that I don't want summer to end! We have also been enjoying the peas and beans in our garden, eating them right off the plant.

Huskies Baseball Game

We went to the Duluth Huskie's baseball game and had a great time! We didn't last too long in the stands, but luckily there was a bouncy house that occupied some of our time, and endless treats from Grandma and Uncle Mike that helped with the rest! The music was good between pitches- I am looking up at Dad when one of his favorite songs came on.

Thanks for coming Grandma and Grandpa!

There were fireworks after the show, which were great! Peter said "That was awesome Mom!".

I even got to see Harvey the Husky!

I Got Fired.

Well, I have been letting pretty much everybody know that I got fired from my job a few weeks ago. I am not afraid to talk about it. What happened was I put a kid in the front seat of my work truck, so they fired me. Apparently that is frowned upon. Now instead of working at the rock quarry on Beck's road, where I have been working for at least 6 months, I am working at the paper mill in Cloquet.

Race Day

We have a race every Wednesday night for 6 weeks straight, and Peter and I love them! Although I am pretty tuckered out by the end of the race. It is only a half way around the track, but that is far for a 4 year old. Here I am just getting ready before the race, relaxing on the nice turf.

Dad starts us off with stretches. Got to loosen up our muscles before the big race!

Peter and I go away for a special pre-race pep talk.

Can you see us??
After the race, I watch the other racers come in from way up high on the bleachers. It is nice and windy up here, and feels great! We get root beer after these races, so that is really what keeps us coming back!

Pirate Ships!

Last weekend we went to the rose gardens and lake walk to view the tall ships. There were a couple out there sailing towards the canal. It was pretty cool to see. When I last saw them, I was only 1 year old!

The park was very pretty with all the flowers and roses in bloom. Grandma R and Aunt Shelly, Grandpa G and Dad and Mom and Pete were all there together.

Pete and I pretended the rows of flowers were like a maze and we had to find out way through them.

Pete getting a good view from Grandpa's shoulders.

Peter, trying to push this big log out to sea.

Mom  struggles for a good picture of the two of us. This is what we give her...

Better than the first, but why is it so hard for both of us to look at the camera at the same time and smile, Mom wonders. It is extremely rare, so if you get a good picture of the 2 of us together like that, it is almost worth gold to Mom.

Our hike brought us to a big culvert with a sketchy walk way going through it. Dad and Grandpa and we ventured through it to see the other side.

Back up at the rose gardens, I wanted to surprise everyone coming up behind me so I ran ahead and found this hiding spot. I got them all!

Another good hiding spot!

As Peter would say "You can't get me from down here!"

Lakewalk

Here I am on the beach just off the lakewalk. It was a pretty day to be out, but it got a little hot for a walk. I wish we would have brought our suits! Then we could have jumped into Lake Superior! We have yet to do that this summer.

 Look at this monster!

Mom and Dad enjoying the nice day also!

What a view!
